Your settings
Edit your avatar and name, choose the dashboard language, set the time zone that dates display in, and pick a theme.
Your settings page holds two cards: Manage profile (avatar, name, email, role, language, and time zone) and Theme (light, dark, or system). Open it by clicking your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar (the user menu's header row goes straight here), or go to /dashboard/account/profile.
Once you're there, the tab strip under the Account settings title, which stays pinned while the page scrolls, lets you switch straight to Account security or Email notifications and back: you don't have to go through the user menu each time.
One Save button, at the top right next to the Account settings title, saves everything you changed on the tab: the Manage profile card and your Theme pick. It works like the Save of a site's settings tabs: dimmed with "No changes to save." when nothing changed, an Unsaved changes marker beside it while something is, and a dialog if you try to leave the tab before saving. See Save your changes for the details.
Your avatar, name, language, and time zone are stored on your account, not just this browser, with one nuance for language, covered below. Theme is remembered per browser, not on your account. See Switching the theme.
Looking for organization members?
This page is your own profile and preferences. To invite teammates or manage who else has access to your organization, see Members, reached from Organization Settings in the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
Upload or change your avatar
The Manage profile card holds your avatar, first name, last name, email, and role, then your language and time zone.
Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar to open My account.
In the Manage profile card, choose a file for Avatar. With no avatar shown, click the Upload an avatar area to browse, or drag a file from your computer and drop it there (it highlights while you're dragging over it). With an avatar already shown, click Replace, or drop a file on the image. A preview replaces the current avatar once you pick or drop a valid file.
Click Save at the top right. A confirmation appears, and your new avatar shows in the sidebar right away.

Your avatar shows wherever your profile appears (the sidebar, this page, and your row in your organization's member list), so teammates see the same picture you do.
No avatar set yet? You may already see a photo
If you sign in through Google, Microsoft, or another login provider and haven't uploaded your own avatar, the field shows the photo from that provider instead of an empty upload area, with "Currently using the photo from your login provider." under it. Replace works as usual, and uploading your own avatar replaces the provider photo everywhere. Remove is shown but disabled, since that photo can't be removed; hover or focus it to see why.
Remove your avatar
Once you've uploaded a custom avatar, the Remove button next to it is enabled.
Your avatar falls back to your login provider's photo, if you have one, or your initials otherwise: the same fallback shown before you ever uploaded a custom avatar.
Edit your name
Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar to open My account.
Edit First name and Last name in the Manage profile card.
Click Save at the top right. A confirmation appears, and your name updates in the sidebar.
Both names are required and can be up to 100 characters. Leading and trailing spaces are trimmed before saving. Editing your name and your avatar are independent: change either, or both, in the same save.
Email and role are read-only
Your email is shown for reference but can't be edited here. Changing it requires a verification step that isn't part of this page. Your Role reflects the role you hold in your current organization: a built-in role (Admin or Member) or a custom role your organization created. It's set from organization member management, not from this page.
Set your language and time zone
Your dashboard Language and Time zone sit at the bottom of the Manage profile card. Neither applies until you click Save.
The Language picker offers four regional locales: English (US), English (UK), Français, and Deutsch. English is split into US and UK so dates, times, and numbers match your market. Both show the same English interface, only the formats differ.
Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar to open My account.
In the Manage profile card, pick a Language: English (US), English (UK), Français, or Deutsch. Each is listed in its own name.
Choose a Time zone. Type to search the list, or click Detect to fill in your browser's current zone.
Click Save at the top right. The dashboard re-renders in your chosen locale, and dates now display in your chosen time zone.

What the language setting changes
It localizes the dashboard interface (navigation, labels, buttons) and the formatting of dates and numbers. The locale's language picks the words; its region picks the format, so English (US) shows month-first dates and a 12-hour clock while English (UK) shows day-first dates and a 24-hour clock, both in English. It does not change the language the AI Shopping Assistant replies to shoppers in; the assistant is multilingual and answers in each shopper's own language on its own. For the full picture, see Languages and localization.
What the time zone setting changes
Every date and time the dashboard shows (conversation timestamps, site timestamps) is rendered in the time zone you set. The default is UTC until you choose one.
Time zone follows you across devices; language mostly does
Your time zone is saved to your account the first time you sign in, detected automatically from your approximate location, and read from your account on every sign-in after that, so it applies wherever you sign in, including a browser you've never used before.
Because the time zone is based on your approximate location, it can be off if you're on a VPN or travelling. If the dates look wrong, set the right zone here (use Detect to pick up your browser's exact zone) and Save.
Language is detected the same way on your very first sign-in, from your browser's preference, and saved to your account. But unlike time zone, it's not read from your account and left alone after that: it's re-resolved from your browser's language on every sign-in, because the field iAdvize stores it in is the same one WorkOS's own hosted sign-in screen writes to from your browser each time you sign in. So signing in from a browser or device set to a different language than usual can silently change your account's language back to that browser's language, even after you've explicitly picked a different one here. If that happens, come back to this page and pick your language again: Save restores it.
Pick a theme
The Theme card shows three illustrated choices: Light, Dark, and System, each drawn as a small picture of the dashboard in that mode (System is half light, half dark). Pick one and the dashboard previews it at once, but the choice is only kept when you click Save at the top right, like the rest of the tab.
Until you save, a new pick counts as an unsaved change: the Unsaved changes marker shows, Save becomes available, and leaving the tab opens the same dialog as any other unsaved change. If you leave without saving (Discard and leave, or any other way off the tab), the dashboard goes back to the theme you had stored. Picking your stored theme again clears the unsaved change.
If you also changed your profile, language, or time zone and that part of the save fails, the theme isn't stored either: the preview stays on screen so you can click Save again.
It's the same theme the sidebar user menu's Theme switch controls, but that switch applies and keeps your pick at once, with no Save. See Switching the theme.
Theme doesn't follow you across devices
Unlike Language and Time zone, Theme isn't saved to your account: it's remembered by your browser only, so a different browser or device keeps its own theme (defaulting to System).
The user menu
What the sidebar user menu shows and the actions it gives you: your account, organization switching and settings, theme, and log out.
Languages and localization
Choose the dashboard's regional locale, understand the difference between the translation language and the date/number format, and what the setting does and does not change.
