Billing
See your organization's monthly usage against its quotas, what stops at each limit, the alert emails, and when it all resets. Read-only. iAdvize sets the quotas.
Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar to open the user menu, choose Organization Settings, then the Billing tab, or go directly to /dashboard/settings/billing. This page shows what your organization has used this month against its quotas. There's nothing to configure here: no form, no toggle.
Only visible with the right permission
This page (and the Billing tab in Organization settings) only shows up for someone whose role grants it. The built-in Admin role has it by default. Without it, the tab doesn't appear, and going to the URL directly shows a restricted-access message naming the missing permission instead of the usage meters, the same behavior every other organization settings page follows.
What the Billing page shows
The Usage this month card has three meters, each as used / quota, with a progress bar:
- Conversations: each new conversation a shopper starts on the AI Storefront or the embedded web tag. A later message in the same conversation doesn't count again. Conversations run in the dashboard playground don't count.
- Pages read: every page AISA reads on your sites, whether you asked for it or automatic reading did.
- Starter generations: one generation writes the starter questions of one page.
Under the meters, a Sites line shows how many sites you hold against your site quota.
The card header gives the month and the reset date. Counters reset on the 1st of each calendar month (UTC), and what's unused doesn't carry over. A Past months card lists the usage of each earlier month that recorded any.
Default quotas
Unless iAdvize has set something else for your organization, these apply:
| Quota | Default per month |
|---|---|
| Conversations | 500 |
| Pages read | 5,000 |
| Starter generations | 2,500 |
| Sites | 2 (held, not per month) |
iAdvize sets the quotas and the mode, per organization. They aren't something you edit from the dashboard. If you expect to grow past them, talk to your iAdvize contact.
Two modes: capped or pay as you go
Each organization is in one of two modes. Capped is the default.
Capped
At a limit, what that quota covers stops until the 1st of the month. The meter shows Limit reached and a notice names the date it resumes.
| Quota | What happens at the limit |
|---|---|
| Conversations | The assistant stops showing to new visitors. A visitor who already has a conversation in progress (a message in the last 24 hours) keeps it and can continue. |
| Pages read | Page reading pauses. Pages already read stay available to your assistant. |
| Starter generations | Starter generation pauses. Starter questions already generated stay in your library. |
| Sites | No further site can be added. Existing sites are never removed. |
What "stops showing" means for a visitor with no conversation in progress:
- The embedded web tag opens nothing and shows no launcher or engagement widget.
- The AI Storefront shows the site's own look with the line "The assistant is not available right now." and no message field.
A few panels that were already open when the limit was reached can still start a conversation: up to 5% of the quota, at least 10, after the limit. The meter never shows more than the quota.
The public REST API follows the same limits. A starter-question request with nothing left to generate answers 429 with generation_limit_reached, and creating a site over the quota answers 409 with site_limit_reached. The MCP server's provision_site_from_url reports it as the site_limit_reached outcome of the address, with no figure.
Pay as you go
Nothing stops. Usage past a quota is shown as overage: a badge reads, for example, "+42 over quota", the bar changes color, and a line under the meter says the activity keeps going. There is no limit on sites.
Alert emails
When a month's usage reaches 80% and 100% of the conversations, pages read or starter generations quota, an email goes to the admins of your organization. It shows the meter, and in capped mode it says what pauses and when it resumes. In pay as you go mode it says nothing stops. A button opens the Billing page.
- Who receives it: every active member with the Admin role, in the language saved on their account.
- How often: once per quota, per threshold and per month. Raising a quota during the month doesn't send a second 80% alert.
- When both are crossed together: only the 100% email is sent.
- Not sent: for the sites quota, or for a quota set to 0.
The check runs when a conversation starts, a page is read or a generation runs, so an email follows the activity that crosses the threshold.
Daily ceilings per site
Whatever the mode, each site also has a daily safety ceiling, counted in UTC and reset at midnight UTC:
- 25,000 page reads per day.
- 12,500 starter generations per day.
On a capped organization, the lower of the daily ceiling and the monthly quota is the one that applies: a read or generation refused for the monthly quota shows Monthly limit reached, one refused for the daily ceiling shows the daily reason. See Limits for the full list of page limits.
Roles
See every role in your organization, and create, edit, duplicate, or delete custom roles built from a fixed set of permissions.
Admin activity
A read-only, filterable record of nearly every admin action across your organization (creating a site, publishing a widget, changing a role, a blocked attempt), with CSV export. Admin-only.
