The dashboard shows that a page is loading

Changed

You can now see that a click was taken. Until now, when you clicked a tab or a sidebar entry on a slow connection or a heavy page, nothing moved until the new page was ready. It was hard to tell a slow page from a click that did not register.

Two things change:

  • The clicked tab or sidebar entry is marked. A thin grey line pulses under a tab, or along the left edge of a sidebar entry, while its page loads. It disappears when the page is ready. The line is drawn over the link, so nothing shifts. The current page stays highlighted as before until the new one opens. If the page is already prepared and opens instantly, you won't see the mark.
  • A placeholder page appears when you move between sections. Going from Conversations to Reports, from Sales to Engagement, or from a site to the account or organization pages now shows a grey outline of a page (a title, three tiles and a block) until the real page replaces it. The audit log and the holdout run keep their own loading display.

Switching between pages inside the site settings, the organization settings or the account pages only gets the marked tab. The tab row stays in place and there is no placeholder, because the placeholder would draw a second row of tabs under the real one.

If your system is set to reduce motion, the pulse stops. The placeholder stays on screen as a static grey block and the tab or sidebar mark stays lit, without animation.

Nothing to set up.
