An inline widget no longer shows twice when your theme re-renders its spot
FixedAn inline widget could appear twice on the same page. It happened to an inline button or a Starters widget placed with a CSS selector and positioned Just before it or Just after it. When your theme re-rendered the element the widget was placed against (a variant switch, a listing filter, anything that swaps that block in place), the widget stayed where it was, and the new element got a widget of its own. Shoppers saw two copies side by side.
The widget sits next to its element, not inside it, so it survived when the element was replaced. Now, when the new element gets its widget, the tag removes the one left next to the old element in the same step, so shoppers see a single widget and the page does not jump while it is swapped.
Widgets positioned Inside, first or Inside, last, and widgets placed with the custom element, were not affected.
The tag keeps watching for a re-render for about four seconds after the page loads, as before. Nothing to set up: the fix ships with the tag, so it reaches your storefront without a change to your snippet.
